As an Industrial Distribution Specialist for 35 plus years, I’ve been intimately involved in all aspects of a distribution business, from floor operations to senior management & finance. Today my focus is in Marketing, Sales, and Relationship Building
Here’s how I arrived at this narrow and deep expertise in my niche: A colleague & I started a small distribution business in 1983. Over a period of almost 3 decades that business grew to over 40 employees, becoming the largest distributor in the state, & earning a reputation for providing premier customer service. As most of us in the business world know, when you have 2 employees starting out – or even 50 – you roll up your sleeves & become deeply involved in everything. You could find me doing spreadsheets one moment & packing crates the next, sitting in on board meetings, or helping train a newbie in the art of distribution 101. For many years, if it meant opening the door for a customer in need at 3:00 in the morning you found either me or my partner turning the key. We sold that business in 2012 to an entity that wanted me to stay on, taking a role in management, & recently accepting a strategic position in Marketing, working on a new venture dealing with the development of a much-needed Digital Marketing Strategy. I wanted to get back to what I love best; Sales and Marketing. In 2018 I started Industrial Distribution Associates, LLC., and quickly acquired sveral great brands to represent and help grow their business in the Pacific Northwest. I am recognized for my expertise in starting, growing, & successfully managing a best-in-class distribution business in Washington & Alaska. I have over the years become known for my compassion, empathy, & work ethic, my ability to grow sales & to manage people. I consider myself fortunate for having such vast flexibility in my work, & such a complex set of problems to work through on a daily basis. As you can see, I have lived in the Northwest for a long time. I love soccer, & have played, coached, & am currently mentoring young referees. I love a challenge & constantly look forward to the next meaningful project, the next team to build, & the next prospect to turn into a great client! |
